Setting up the connection

A guide to setting up Bank Statement pushing into Rillet from Atlar

This guide is intended for the person who can create an API token in Rillet and who knows which GL accounts in Rillet correspond to which bank accounts.

Pre-requisites

Before getting started, ensure the following are in place:

  1. You have received the invite link to your Atlar environment (sent via email).
  2. The reporting connection between Atlar and your banks has already been established.
  3. Your bank accounts have been provisioned in Atlar.
  4. Your bank accounts are created in Rillet

Step 1: Create an External reference in Rillet

  1. In Rillet, navigate to Settings → External References and add a new ID
  2. Type Name = Atlar Transaction Unique ID
  3. Type Code = atlar.Transaction.UniqueId
  4. Click Save changes in the bottom of the screen

Step 2: Create an API token in Rillet

  1. In Rillet, navigate to Settings → API Access and create a new API key.
  2. Name it "Atlar Integration".
  3. Create the API token and copy it. Note: once you have copied it, you will not be able to access it again.

Step 3: Add the API token in Atlar

  1. In Atlar, navigate to Settings → Third-party connections.
  2. Select the Rillet connection → Actions → Create Secret.
  3. Choose API Token and paste the token generated from Rillet.

Step 4: Trigger manual fetches

  1. Ask your Delivery Manager to trigger a manual fetch of GL entities.
  2. Delivery will reach out to request a GL entity mapping — confirm with Delivery when completed.
  3. You can then continue with account mapping (Step 5).

Step 5: Create vendor bank accounts

Rillet bank accounts aren't linked from existing records — Atlar creates them for you:

  1. In the Accounts tab, click Create.
  2. Give the account a name, then select the Rillet GL account (from your chart of accounts), the Atlar entity, and the Atlar bank account it corresponds to. The bank account's currency must match the GL account's currency.
  3. Save. Atlar provisions the matching bank account directly in Rillet — ask your Delivery Manager to trigger a manual fetch for the bank accounts.

Step 6: Enable statement pushing

In the Account Configurations tab, toggle on — per account — whether you want to push statements.

Step 7: Transactions start flowing

Once everything is configured:

  • Transactions are fetched from end-of-day bank statements.
  • They appear in Rillet the following morning.
